Eli Young Band Concert August 14:
Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson formed the Eli Young Band with the goal of playing in bars in exchange for free beer and the chance to talk to a few girls after their shows. Now, five studio albums, two EPs and some “Crazy Girls” hits later the group is preparing another album and getting ready to lay it all out in TJ’s Corral this Sunday evening, August 14!  Learn more about the Eli Young Band in this article from The Boot published last week by Gayle Thompson. Our friends at Tahoe OnStage also did another fine “concert advance article” earlier this week. Anyway, be sure to catch the Eli Young Band Concert this Sunday in TJ’s Corral . . . Tickets start at $49 and they are available on our website, at the hotel desk, or by calling 775-783-6606.

Haven't Been to a Concert in TJ's Corral? Then check out the above Carson Valley Report which ran on Mountain Resort Television in Tahoe a few weeks ago. You'll find out some facts, catch scenes from past concerts and learn how TJ's Corral got its name. Following this Sunday's Eli Young Band Concert  there are only two remaining events in TJ's Corral this summer so be sure you have them on your calendar. The Davison Brothers Band will be performing as part of our 32nd Birthday Celebration on Saturday, August 27 and Randy Houser brings his 2016 concert tour to our stage on Thursday, September 8.

Our Peaks and Valleys - Can You Name Them?
Job’s Peak or Job’s Sister? We often refer to the incredible view of the Sierra Mountain Range as seen from TJ's Corral during concert evenings. Turns out many of us locals don’t know the names of most of the peaks and canyons in the Sierra Range that separates Lake Tahoe from the Carson Valley. Want to become an expert or at least have a frame of reference or impress someone while waiting for one of our concerts to start? The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce offers the above picture in various sizes. You’ll get a panoramic high resolution image of the Eastern Sierra as seen from Carson Valley with all the major peaks, passes and canyons labeled. Get more information and order your preferred size by clicking at this link.

S'mores Ready for the Campfire!
Today is National S’mores Day. No, we’re not about to tell you that S’mores is the dessert special tonight in Katie’s (that would be fun!) . . . nor are we going to claim we’ve prepared 100 of them to roast over an open campfire just outside TJ’s Corral tonight after sunset (would be even more fun!). But, S’mores is the major theme in our Ladies’ Day gifts tonight. The first 150 ladies to sign up tonight starting at 5:30 receive a free keychain and a free S’mores gift from The Chocolate Shoppe. Ladies, be sure to use your Inn Club card while playing in the casino this evening because you could be picked for a hot seat prize – and tonight they are S’mores Themed Gift Baskets from The Chocolate Shoppe – or you could be chosen to receive more entries for the Ladies’ Night drawing on August 24 for a Coach Wallet and Handbag! Also on tap for the ladies tonight: free bingo, a drink special and raffle!

This "Castle" Station Overlooks the Clubhouse at Carson Valley Clays
Some Clays Were Broken, Some Got Away!  Our inaugural Summer Fun Shoot was a big success earlier this week with two incredible days of weather at the shooting clubs (crisp, cool mornings, done before the mid-eighties crept in), quite the warm-up dinner in CV Steak on Sunday night (lots of wine!), hearty lunches at the courses both days (thanks, chef – you outdid our expectations!), and a boisterous wrap up dinner at the JT Basque Restaurant & Bar last night (what happens at the JT stays at the JT!) If you have any inkling to shoot sporting clays, don’t miss out on our next Shooting Outing coming up February 23 – 25, 2017.

Blues Monsters and John Dawson Band this Weekend in Cabaret Lounge:
George Pickard is on stage tonight, The Blues Monsters entertain Thursday, The John Dawson Band takes over Friday and Saturday nights and Bill Wharton plays Sunday through Wednesday.  The Blues Monsters performs a powerfully unique combination of R&B, funk, jazz, and Chicago-style blues. Whether paying respects to the masters of traditional blues, or rockin' out other tunes, The Blues Monsters get the whole house up and dancing! The John Dawson Band is a Reno based group of five fun-lovin' guys who just like to play music and entertain with a variety of modern country and classic rock. The quintet includes Mitch (Lead Guitar), Brian (keys), J.B.  (Bass), Jhan (drums) and John Dawson (vocals and guitar).  Click here for the upcoming lineup of free entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge.
