A Tesla Charging Outside of TJ's Corral |
Charge Your Tesla Here!
It
is now more convenient than ever to drive your Tesla on overnight trips to the
CVI because you can be all charged up before the trip home. And if you are passing through and need a boost, you can load about 100 miles in about the time it takes to have lunch in Katie's and a little fun in the casino. All this is
possible thanks to the very recent addition of four Tesla Destination Charging Stations which are located on the south
wall of TJ’s Corral.
Rick Started with This . . . |
He Turned Trash Into Cash!
Rick
Lane was in town last weekend to join his family for his grandmother’s Celebration of Life. A fun-loving bunch
not strangers to our casino, the group was in on Saturday night and Rick’s name
was pulled in one of the hot seat drawings between 6 and 7:30 PM. He looked over
the various Costco gifts available and latched on to the box of Kitchen Trash Bags.
Further examination revealed the box also had the ticket he needed to move onto
the 7:30 PM festivities for the weekly rent giveaway. Rick and 10 other
finalists chose a special chocolate gift and the one Rick picked was the winner!
He was given the choice: take $5,000
Cash and call it a day or spin the wheel for a chance at up to $7,800. The picture is worth five
thousand words!
And Turned it into This! |
Special
Days
- Today is Ravioli Day. Here are two options:
- Stay home and roll out a part of your pasta dough very finely on your worktop, fill with a filling of your choice, seal with a top layer of pasta, and then boil for 2-3 minutes. Serve with a tomato or cream-based sauce for a hopefully lovely and memorable meal and a definitely messy cleanup!
- Or, come in to CV Steak and enjoy our Porcini Mushroom Ravioli either as a Starter (that’s fancy talk for Appetizer) or as an Entrée. It’s an easy choice for us: See you in CV Steak tonight!
- Thursday is French Bread Day. We don’t make French Bread in our bakery, but we do bake the incredibly delicious Sourdough Baguette’s served warm in CV Steak every night and they are the perfect accompaniment to the Porcini Mushroom Ravioli appetizer or Entrée!
- Saturday is Puppy Day. Everyone loves puppies and you’ll definitely smile when you
watch this short 1-minute video from SG Gaming
promoting their OMG! Puppies! video
slots. And of course you can play one of these slots here at the CVI – any of
our casino floor personnel can lead you to the spot!
- Monday is Waffle Day. Celebrate this one any day of the week ‘cause waffles are
available daily in Katie’s from 7 to 11 AM.
- Tuesday is Spinach Day. We know most of our readers would rather have something (anything?) other than spinach, but we do have to touch all bases. Our suggestion? Order the Spinach Salad in Katie’s and spring for a few extra bucks to add the Grilled Chicken and Avocado options!
- The NCAA Men's
Division I Basketball Tournament . . . the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). . .the National Invitation Tournament (NIT)
the College Basketball Invitational
(CBI) . . . So many acronyms, over 100 teams, dozens of games and hundreds
of thousands of cheering alumni! It’s all crammed into what is collectively
referred to as March Madness over
the next couple of weeks. With over four dozen 65-inch screens around our Cabaret
Lounge, Casino Bar, Table Games Area, CV Steak Bar and Poker Room, we can
pretty much cover any game that’s televised. And very few can resist the
temptation to put at least a few dollars on their alma mater or favorite team
because there is no better boast than telling your college buddies that you put
your money where your heart was whether your team wins or loses!
- Ever wonder what the historical odds are of a particular seed winning in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament? Our friend Bill Chernock, Executive Director of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, had this info in his update to members yesterday and we are sharing it here as he presented it:
No. 1 seed vs. No. 16 seed: 135-1 (99.26%)
No. 2 seed vs. No. 15 seed: 128-8 (94.12%)
No. 3 seed vs. No. 14 seed: 115-21 (84.56%)
No. 4 seed vs. No. 13 seed: 108-28 (79.41%)
No. 5 seed vs. No. 12 seed: 89-47 (65.44%)
No. 6 seed vs. No. 11 seed: 85-51 (62.5%)
No. 7 seed vs. No. 10 seed: 84-52 (61.76%)
No. 8 seed vs. No. 9 seed: 69-67 (50.74%)
- In Addition to College
Hoops: There are plenty
more sports to watch and wager with the continuation of NBA Basketball, NHL Hockey, Alliance of
American Football League games, the NASCAR STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Spring Training Baseball and Horseracing.
We
think this wagon would’ve had a much better chance if those big wooden wheels were
two big wooden skis! However, had that been the case, this artistic image might
not have been one of the winners in Visit Carson Valley’s most recent #WHYCV photo contest!
And
speaking of skiing, with the brief blast of additional snow today conditions should
be quite good this weekend at Heavenly
Lake Tahoe and Kirkwood, the two
Vail Resorts so easily accessible to guests at the Carson Valley Inn. Stay at the CVI where rates are more
reasonable and it’s easier to get around . . . and then drive to these two
resorts when you’re ready to ski!

Denver
Saunders Duo tonight, Arizona Jones Thursday thru Saturday, Rock River Sunday and Monday and Jeff Campbell Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Denver
Saunders Duo is a stripped down performance of the band “The Well Dressed
Mannequins.” Denver Saunders (vocals/guitar) and Jarom Horner (6-String Bass)
are known for inspiring dancing, laughing and sing-alongs wherever they play.
In a scene so often dominated by technology and
gimmicks, Arizona Jones prefers to
do it the old fashioned way - live and personal. When they put their rockin' spin on classic
R& B hits from the 60's and 70's, you never know who'll be singing louder,
the audience or the band. They play the hits from Aerosmith and Amy Winehouse
to Wilson Pickett and ZZ Top.
Rock
River is Buddy and Kim from the Buddy Emmer Blues Band
presenting an evening of blues and other music!
Jeff
Campbell is a vocalist,
impassioned songwriter and
lifelong musician . . . an emotional,
evocative poet with a rock lover’s heart!
