When Was Your First Time? Could CVI Provide a New Kitchen for You?

New Carpet Means New Slots!
Thank you for your patience, understanding and short walking detours during the recent recarpeting of our casino. As you saw or experienced, we had to move every slot machine and every piece of furniture which gave us an opportunity to bring in some new games and technology. Among the new technology is the first-in-the-country Incredible Technologies Infinity V55 Edge Carousel with six Power Wheel Slots in back-to-back Sawtooth configuration! Quite a mouthful, isn't it! Bottom line for you: first class seating and 4D video images as you enjoy the popular Power Wheel games! Next week we'll cover some of the new slot/video games and themes we added for your enjoyment during the last few weeks. Meanwhile, enjoy the mixture of lava lamp and bobbing creatures in the video above!

Can What You Wear Influence What You Win?
Life Is Full of First Times
First times are memorable. For kids the first time riding a two-wheel bike is a milestone. A golfer looks forward to his first hole-in-one. For a pilot the first solo is an incredible experience. And last week Ronald N. from Texas, a self-proclaimed “Royal Flush Virgin,” hit his first Royal Flush on a Double Double Bonus Video Poker game at the CVI while visiting his mother and sister who live locally. As you can see in the picture he was wearing a red-trimmed CVI sweatshirt and the Royal flush was in matching red diamonds.  The blue in his shirt (which also had a CVI logo) matches the blue background on the video screen. Coincidence? Or  . . . did he arrive at CVI "dressed for success?" Doesn’t matter, the important part was the green in the $2,103 he pocketed by betting just nickels! Not bad for a “first time!”

Old & Dated + This Jackpot = Fresh & New
Kitchen Remodel on Us?
Say the picture on the left is like your current tired, dated kitchen. And then let’s say you win the Penny Progressive Jackpot in the center image (it’s actually higher since this picture was taken.) The end result could easily be the modern kitchen shown on the right!  Fact is, the next winner of our Penny Progressive Jackpot will be able to set aside enough to pay the taxes and then do a full kitchen remodel! We’re not talking a gloss-over, or a basic approach like you sometimes see on the renovation TV shows.  We're talking tear everything out to the walls, perhaps even remove a wall, and do it all brand-new. Custom cabinets, granite or marble countertops, backsplash of your choice including custom patterns, a large island, all new appliances and all new fixtures. You'll even have enough to add some of the modern conveniences like a no-touch faucet, instant hot water, a pot filler, fancy cabinet inserts and more. How do we know it can be done for what the next Penny Progressive Jackpot winner will be paid? A couple of us here at the CVI did complete kitchen makeovers in the last year and the current Penny Progressive jackpot amount is definitely enough to do it really right! All it takes is lining up the correct symbols with a max-coin bet . . . and this jackpot can only be won at one of our four properties: Carson Valley Inn, Bodines Casino, Sharkey’s Casino and SlotWorld. Ready to give it a shot?

  • Today is Thank You Note Day. A perfect opportunity to thank all of our readers and customers for your support of the Carson Valley Inn during 2018. We appreciate your business and the many friendships . . . and we wish you the best of success and health during 2019!

  • The Week 17 Progressive Pro PK'EM jackpot is $4377 for whoever picks this week’s 15 NFL winners or props straight up on a $5 Card. Play as many as you wish and any ties will be split. Santa Crawl, Jackpot Alert, Ugly Sweaters, Merry Christmas, More

Ladies’ Night Features
Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest Tonight
We know National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day isn’t until Friday, but we are marking the occasion tonight with our Ladies’ Night Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest!  Ladies’ Night runs from 5:30 to 8:30 PM and we start with two free CVI ornaments for the first 150 ladies. You’ll see Chocolate Shoppe Gift Baskets as hot seat prizes and also enjoy the usual games, raffles, a weekly drink special and free bingo for ladies playing in the pit or at slots.  Be sure to wear your Christmas sweater whether you consider it ugly or not ‘cause we're making it possible for everyone who remotely participates to win have a chance to win a prize:

  • Everyone who wears a sweater with even the slightest hint of Christmas will have their name entered “into the drum” for drawings for prizes including Cash & FreePlay up to $500.
  • Unless they change it on the fly, our Ladies’ Night hosts – Kim, Deanna and Julie – will pick the top five Ugly Christmas Sweaters and turn the voting over to the judges to determine the order of finish for prizes including Cash, FreePlay & Gift Baskets.
Penny Progressive Jackpot Alert
What would you do with this bonus? We have a great idea which we'll share next week if some lucky winner hasn't "hit" it yet!

Santa Crawl
The 10th Annual Gardnerville Santa Crawl is this Saturday from 7 to 10 PM and Sharkey's Casino is part of the seven-property festivities all to foster holiday fun for the benefit of Austin’s House and the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
  • How to Register: Start by stopping by Battle Born Wine or DST Coffee any day before the Santa Crawl starts on Saturday evening. Purchase a wristband (one for each wrist if you're feeling generous) for $10.00 and all money collected will be split between Austin’s House and the Food Closet.
  • How to Participate: Wear your wristband on Saturday and start making the rounds to the participating locations which are the JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, Battle Born Wine, DST Coffee, Overland Restaurant & Pub, The French Bar, Sharkey's Casino and Nevada Ugly.  All are literally within "crawling" distance of each other so the "Santa Crawl" name is not a stretch!
  • What to Expect: Each location will have one or more drink specials available at a special price to all wearing the official wristband. At Sharkey's Casino, our Silver Dollar Bar will be featuring $1 Red or Green Jello Vodka Shots, $2 Firestone Union Jack IPA draft, $2 Jager Spice shots and $3 Spiced Jager Cider.
  • What to Wear: Dress warm to start. Wear anything Santa or Christmas related - use your imagination or go mainstream . . . it's all optional.
  • Our Special Tip: You'll "crawl" better if you have a snack or two during the event. Sharkey's Bar Bites are perfect and you can enjoy them right at the Silver Dollar Bar!
  • Above All: Please consume responsibly and have fun!
Christmas Week Reminders
  • Family Christmas Pictures: Take as many as you’d like in front of the Christmas decorations in our hotel lobby or any of the other decorations throughout the property.
  • Gift Cards:  If you missed the details in last week’s blog here is a link to all the information on our Gift Cards including how and where our gift cards can be used, how you can buy or reload a gift card and other gift card related information.
  • Christmas Day Dining at the Inn: Both CV Steak and Katie’s are serving their regular menus plus holiday specials on Christmas Day. Here’s a link to the Christmas Day Specials in both restaurants.
More of Those “Special” Days
  • Today is Oatmeal Muffin Day. We have muffins of a few types, but none with oatmeal (we tried them all again just to be sure!) However . . . here are two alternatives produced in our bakery and available at the Katie’s Bakery Counter: Oatmeal/Raisin Cookies and Lemon and Oatmeal Squares. Oatmeal cravings solved!
  • Thursday is Games Day. Games? Pick from any of the 500+ available on our casino floor!
  • Friday is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day for those who didn’t celebrate it with us two days early.
  • Friday is also Underdog Day. You could take the traditional approach and watch a famous underdog movie like the Karate Kid or Rocky. Or/and you could swing by the sports book and create your own parlay card of three or more underdogs from Friday’s college and pro sports games!!
  • Sunday is Festivus. This was pretty much an unknown “holiday” until 21 years ago yesterday when “The Strike” episode of Seinfeld first aired. If you remember it, you know it’s time to dig out your aluminum pole!
Football and Other Sports at the Inn
  • A Dorothy Parlay Hits:  The grinning customer walked up to the CVI Sports Book counter on Monday and handed his winning ticket to Mike as he said, "Lions And Tigers and Bears, Oh My!"  Mike’s been in the sports book business for 15 years and he knew right away what had happened: the lucky customer had just won a 3-team parlay on which he picked the Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears. The Dorothy Parlay is named for the song in the Wizard of Oz movie and, as with any 3-team parlay it paid 6 to 1!
  • Our Guys Picks: The penultimate (next to last) week for picks.  We’ll forgo last week’s unpleasantries and give the week 16 prognostications. Greg likes the two big dogs, Cardinals +14 against the Rams and the Bills +13 vs. the Patriots.  Steve is taking the Steelers +6 at the Saints and Hawaii as a pick’em against LA Tech in the Hawaii Bowl.  Mike will put his money on the Redskins +10 against the Titans and Army -4 ½ vs. the Houston Cougars.  Finally, Alan loves his Eagles -1 vs the Texans and Toledo -6 against Florida International in the Coconut Bowl.
  • The Progressive Pro PK'EM jackpot is now $4268 for whoever picks this week’s 15 NFL winners or props straight up on a $5 Card. Play as many as you wish and any ties will be split.
  • Monday Night Football Poker Room Grid: $160 is available for this coming Monday’s Broncos/Raiders game: $40 each for the first three quarters and the final score. You must be present to win and any unclaimed winnings roll to the following week. Check the details on this page.
  • The NCAA Bowl Games Continue with eight more contests tonight thru Saturday. The Bowl Games Sheet in our sports book lists all the bowl games by date with information on the times, location, teams, television coverage and odds.

A Gift Idea, A Thank You, Holiday with a Hero, More in CVI Blog

Part of the CVI Family's Christmas Look
The Christmas trees, fireplace and other decorations in our hotel lobby make a great backdrop for a family holiday picture.  Since “a picture is worth 1000 words,” we’ve shown pictures of part of our family to demonstrate how it’s done. We hope to see you and your family here over the holidays and feel free to take as many pictures as you’d like in front of this setting or any of our Christmas decorations!

A Practical, Flexible & Versatile Gift Idea
Have local family or friends who might enjoy a nice dinner in CV Steak? Or how about out-of-town family or friends you’d like to have visit but just don’t have room for them in your home? Those are just two of the many situations that make CVI Gift Cards so useful and versatile!

Let’s go over the full list starting with the dining options: Katie's Country Kitchen, CV Steak and Job's Perk at the Carson Valley Inn; the restaurant at Bodines Casino; the Jackpot Cafe at Sharkey's Casino and Betsy's Big Kitchen in SlotWorld.  Gift cards are usable at all of the bars at all four of our properties and for accommodations in the Carson Valley Inn Hotel, Motor Lodge or RV Resort. Cards can also be used to purchase merchandise in Jobs Perk or gas/merchandise at the Carson Valley Market (redeem inside).  And when the summer season comes around, they can also be used towards tickets for concerts in TJ’s Corral.

Gift cards may be purchased at the Hotel Front Desk at the Carson Valley Inn or at the Guest Services counter at Bodines Casino, Sharkey's Casino and SlotWorld Casino. To buy them by phone, please call the CVI Hotel Desk at 775-783-6606 – we’ll even arrange to mail them if you wish.  Our Gift Cards do not expire, they may be used in increments and they are easily reloaded.  Sound good? Then solve your Christmas gift dilemma with a CVI gift card available in increments up to $500!

Share Your Christmas Food A Success!
What an incredible outpouring of support from the community last Friday at the 26th Annual KTVN Share Your Christmas Community Food Drive! Hundreds of cars and trucks brought most of the donations. Others came by helicopter, emergency vehicle, horseback and even by foot from those living close by. Thanks to the all generous donations of food and cash, many in our community will have meals when they otherwise might’ve gone hungry during the coming year!

Holiday With a Hero
Our sister properties SlotWorld Casino and Bodines Casinos are teaming up with the Holiday With A Hero organization this Saturday by donating all restaurant sales on December 15 to this very worthy cause.  Between 8 AM and 8 PM various members of the Sheriff's Office, Fire Department and Air National Guard will be on hand to "assist" our servers at both properties as they deliver your meals. Sponsored by the Carson City School District, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Carson City Fire Department, the Holiday With A Hero program ensures underprivileged children in Carson City have a proper Christmas. The money raised this Saturday will be dispersed to designated and pre-qualified students as Walmart gift cards . . . and each recipient is escorted throughout the store on December 19 with a local Hero from the Carson City School District, Sheriff’s Office or Fire Department. According to Sheriff’s Sgt. Daniel Gonzales, “SlotWorld made a huge impact last year and with the addition of Bodines this year Christmas 2018 will be even bigger”.  Sgt. Gonzales also indicated, “This event helps break down any barriers that come with our job. Sometimes these kids see us in a difficult situation in their homes or neighborhoods. Holiday With A Hero allows us to let our hair down and interact with the kids on a different more personal level."

Santa Crawl
The 10th Annual Gardnerville Santa Crawl is Saturday, December 22 from 7 to 10 PM and wristbands are available now for $10.00 at Battle Born Wine or DST Coffee. We suggest getting yours in advance so you can jump right in and enjoy the drink specials at the participating businesses during the “Crawl.” All donations will be split between Austin’s House & Carson Valley Community Food Closet. Watch for all the details in next week’s blog.
Gingerbread & Cookies
Another Gingerbread Cookie (?)
Gets Decorated!
  • Today is Gingerbread House Day.  Bet you thought we were going to tell you we have Gingerbread for sale at the Katie’s Bakery Counter and that   should come in and buy some? Nope - we don’t do gingerbread. You can blame the character in the green suit in the above Christmas picture taken in front of our lobby fireplace! However, we did find this young lady decorating a what looks like a gingerbread cookie at one of the recent Christmas parties here at the Carson Valley Inn. And since we can’t go without trying to “sell” something, now is the time to be thinking about booking your 2019 Christmas Party for your company, association or family. Just give Carrie a call at 775-783-6673.
  • Tuesday is Bake Cookies Day. Nothing fills the home with a more inviting aroma then hot, fresh cookies baking in the oven. On the other hand, it sounds like a lot of work to us. So if you’d like to skip the fuss and mess of baking cookies at home just stop by the Katie’s Bakery Counter (there, we worked it in!) We bake Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter and  Oatmeal Raisin cookies here daily as we do cakes, pies, pastries and many other desserts and sweets available in Job’s Perk, Katie’s and CV Steak! As for that aroma of fresh baked cookies? We deal with it daily – some days better than others and that’s why most of us would be well served by losing a few pounds!?
Football and Other Sports at the Inn
  • Rodeo Headquarters Through Saturday: Make the CVI your NFR Viewing Headquarters as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo continues through Saturday. We’re showing the live rodeo telecasts starting at 7 PM in the Cabaret Lounge and you can enjoy $2 Coors, $2 Coors Light and $2 shots of Jack Daniels while the action continues until 10 PM.  Hungry? We’ll bring you any of our Bar Snacks right to your seat in the Cabaret Lounge or at the Casino Bar while you enjoy the rodeo action.
  • Our Guys Picks!  Humility reigns strong with Our Guys not wanting to get on a hot streak to end the season.  A 3 & 5 week ensures things must change with two weeks left of prognostication.   Mike looks to turn his luck around with the Arizona Cardinals +8 ½ at the Falcons and the over 54 in the Eagles – Rams game.  Steve is taking the Panthers +6½ versus the Saints and loves Middle Tennessee St. +7 against Appalachian St. in the New Orleans Bowl.  Alan is looks to remain the best picker among The Guys with Utah St. -8 vs. North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl and the Eagles +9 at the Rams.  Greg is going with the all Bay Area Play; 49ers +6 and the Raiders +3.
  • The Progressive Pro PK'EM jackpot climbed to $4,180 for whoever picks this week’s 15 winners or props straight up on a $5 Card. Play as many as you wish and any ties will be split.
  • Monday Night Football Poker Room Grid: $282 is available for this coming Monday’s Saints/Panthers game: That’s $70 and change for the first three quarters and the final score. You must be present to win and any unclaimed winnings roll to the following week. Check the details on this page.
  • The NCAA Bowl Games Start Saturday.  The New Mexico Bowl is first and a total of 39 bowl games will have taken place by the time the Sugar Bowl wraps up on Tuesday night, January 1, 2019. The Bowl Games Sheet in our sports book lists all the bowl games by date with information on the times, location, teams, television coverage and odds.
  • Enjoy $2 Domestic Draft Beer during all NFL games at the CVI.
  • On The Board This Week: NCAA Bowl Games, NFL Football, NBA and NCAA Basketball, NHL Hockey and Horseracing. Futures include winners of the NFL Conference Championships, the 2019 Super Bowl, the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the 2019 Stanley Cup and the 2019 NBA Championship.

Rodeo Headquarters, Food Drive Friday, Much More in CVI Blog

Make CVI Your Rodeo Headquarters
The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo kicks off this Thursday and we invite you to make CVI your NRF Viewing Headquarters! Each night through December 15 we’ll be showing the live rodeo telecasts starting at 7 PM in the Cabaret Lounge and throughout the casino. During the telecasts, enjoy $2 Coors, $2 Coors Light and $2 shots of Jack Daniels! We’ll also be saddled up to bring you any of our Bar Snacks right to your seat in the Cabaret Lounge or at the Casino Bar while you enjoy the rodeo action. We’ll have our eye on the Carson Valley’s own #97 Wyatt Denny as he competes in the bareback riding event. Wyatt was the 2015 Rookie Bareback Rider of the Year and the 2015 College National Finals Rodeo Champion. This is his third year to qualify for the NFR and he is the only Nevadan on the list of 100+ NFR 2018 Contestants!

Your Guide to Friday’s
Share Your Christmas Food Drive Here at CVI
We’re looking forward to seeing the Carson Valley community “en force” this Friday as you swing by the annual KTVN Share Your Christmas Community Food Drive! Here’s everything you need to know to plan your visit:

  • Simply pull into our RV Park entrance anytime between 6 AM and 6 PM this Friday - plenty of volunteers (over 150 throughout the day) will be on hand to accept your donations, help unload your vehicle, give a snack to your dog and then weigh, sort and box tens of thousands of pounds of food in 12 hours!
  • Cash and food donations will be accepted and everything collected at the CVI location goes directly to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, Nonperishables are the key and here is a link to the 2018 Most Wanted Items.
  • This year’s KTVN Channel 2 crew is Arianna Bennett, Ryan Canaday and Angela Shilling.
  • Santa will arrive by CareFlight helicopter at 9:30 AM (weather permitting) and will be here for pictures until early afternoon.
  • Two Bloodmobiles will be accepting donations from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 800-696-4484 or visit this site and sign up on line!
  • Emergency vehicles light the way before dawn and at dusk
  • All toys (new and unwrapped, please) donated at the Food Drive will go to Project Santa Claus.
  • See you Friday!!
Our Military Theme Christmas Tree
While Elvis made the term “A Blue Christmas” popular to describe the Christmas blues, the Blue Christmas celebrated on Nov. 22 - Dec. 31 is for those who work as first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs and 911 dispatchers. With this in mind, we included a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office ornament on our military themed Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. Come on in and enjoy all the Christmas decorations at the Carson Valley Inn and be sure to bring the kids for a picture in front of the tree-framed fireplace, also in the hotel lobby.

Four Modes of Transportation to Ponder
  • Magic Carpet: Anything but in this case . . . it’s good old fashioned tugging, rolling, pushing and pulling as we move out and back hundreds of slots, table games, kiosks, ATMs and other furnishings and fixtures! It’s all part of our casino re-carpeting project which continues today and tomorrow and again next Monday through Thursday. Thanks so very much for your patience and understanding during this major spiff up!
  • Sleigh: Actually, we’re not sure if a sleigh is the best idea for this one although that is the normal form of transportation for this seasonal star! Probably should go “by hoof” as you take part in the 10th Annual Gardnerville Santa Crawl on Saturday, December 22. Sharkey’s Casino will again be in the middle of the celebration and we’ll have more on the subject next week!
  • Helicopter: Will serve as Santa's Sleigh this Friday when he arrives for the Food Drive.
  • Jets: The sights and sounds of freedom will again fill the skies of the Carson Valley on the first weekend in October 2020 when the USAF Thunderbirds return to anchor the next edition of the Aviation Roundup.
Special Days
Our Suggested "Treat" for Santa This Year
  • Friday is Bartender Appreciation Day. Or, maybe it’s Saturday? Turns out two different sites on the internet have two different opinions. So, play it safe and be nice to your bartender the rest of this week.
  • Saturday is Brownie Day. Our suggestion is to break with the cookie tradition and leave a big plate of brownies and a glass of milk for Santa in a few weeks! You can pile ‘em high for the guy in the red suit (or your family as is more likely to be the case) by stopping by the Katie’s Bakery Counter for a box of our 4’ square chocolate brownies (three for $5), cutting each one into four pieces and watching a dozen mini-brownies disappear rapidly! We won’t ask who actually devoured the brownies!
  • Sunday is Pastry Day. Between Job's Perk and Katie’s we cover all the major pastry family including bear claws, cinnamon rolls, muffins (banana, blueberry, bran and cranberry), Danish (apple, blueberry, cheese, cherry, raspberry, lemon),  fritters, long johns, and a few others that we weren’t sure of the names!
  • Monday is Lager Day. Pilsner, Ale, Lager, Beer . . . They’re all good and the “discussion” over what actually constitutes a Lager can get complex. So, at CVI the bottled Coors, Budweiser, Modelo Especial, Corona and Heineken are all lagers in our book as are the Sam Adams Boston Lager and Stella Artois we serve on draft. If you want to debate one of these with our bartender, please do so while drinking a beer of your choice!
Football and Other Sports at the Inn
  • Our Guys Picks: Three weeks left of picking winners (well, not always) and Our Guys are determined to finish with a flurry!  Greg is going with the under 38 in the Jets vs. Bills game and the Patriots -8 at the Dolphins.  Steve loves Tampa Bay +8 against the Saints and the Titans -4 vs. the Jaguars.  Mike is taking Army -7 against Navy and the Eagles +4 at the Cowboys.  Alan is rolling on the under 37½ in the Titans – Jags game and Bengals +14 at the Chargers. In order of “success rate,” here’s how Our Guys are doing thru 13 weeks: Greg is 13 & 13, Alan is 12 & 14, and both Mike and Steve are 9 & 17.  That a collective record of 43 & 61. Ugh!
  • The Progressive Pro PK'EM jackpot is now at $4,096.  Pick this week’s 15 winners or props straight up on a $5 Card (play as many as you wish) and it’s yours (any ties are split.)
  • Monday Night Football Poker Room Grid: $244 is available for this coming Monday’s Vikings/Seahawks game: That’s $61 for the first three quarters and the final score. You must be present to win and any unclaimed winnings roll to the following week. Check the details on this page.
  • Bowl Sheet Available: Our sports book has a handy three-page Bowl Games Sheet that lists all the bowl games by date with information on the times, location, teams, television coverage and odds. Quite the handy tool for keeping track of all 39 NCAA bowl games!
  • Enjoy $2 Domestic Draft Beer during all NFL games at the CVI.
  • On The Board This Week: NCAA Football (the Army/Navy Game and all the Bowl Games), NFL Football, NBA and NCAA Basketball, NHL Hockey and Horseracing. Futures include winners of the NFL Conference Championships, the 2019 Super Bowl, the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the 2019 Stanley Cup and the 2019 NBA Championship.
This Week in the Casino
  • Ladies’ Night Wednesday: It’s happening from 5:30 to 8:30 PM with Two Free CVI Ornaments for the first 150 ladies and Shelly Camp Gift Baskets as hot seat prizes. You’ll also enjoy the usual games, raffles, a weekly drink special and free bingo for ladies playing in the pit or at slots. If you were here for the Apron Decoration contest last Wednesday, you know it was quite a hoot.  Good reminder to start digging through your closet now so you can be ready for the Ugly Sweater Contest that will be part of ladies night on Wednesday, December 19!
  • 4X Points This Wednesday:  This one’s for our daytime guests . . . . Use your INN Club card while playing and you’ll be racking up 4X Points today from 4 AM to 4 PM.
  • Rodeo Headquarters Starting Thursday: Be sure to catch the details in the article above.
  • $75,000 Holiday Giveaways Promotion Friday & Saturday:  Join us at 5, 7 and 9 PM for drawings for cash and FreePlay!
  • Point Multipliers Saturday: 4X Points on Reel Slots and Video Poker Slots all day every Saturday in December. Use your rapidly accumulating points for FreePlay, dining, Katie’s Bakery products, hotel stays and more!
  • Guaranteed FreePlay Monday: Use your card while playing and you are the guaranteed winner of $7 - $10 in FreePlay for each 250 points you earn Monday up to 1,250 points! The FreePlay downloads automatically to your account with accompanying graphics and sounds!

The Rye Brothers through this Saturday
Free Entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge
Rye Brothers tonight through Saturday, NFL Football Sunday and Monday nights and Tyler Stafford next Tuesday through Thursday.  The Rye Brothers are a “power-pop” country act, mixing contemporary country music and rock n’ roll guitar driven songs. The group is led by Paul Justin & Justin Foutz who trade off on the lead vocals and guitar licks.  Named “Reno’s Best Songwriter 2013” Tyler Stafford’s songs often draw comparisons to songwriters such as John Mayer and Paul Simon delivered with a candor and immediacy reminiscent of John Lennon.
