Rock 'n' Roll for the 4th - Join Us!

I Rock 'n' Roll
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 and her induction speech by Miley Cyrus was quite entertaining!! The band’s Hall of Fame performance with Tommy James, Miley Cyrus and Dave Grohl (video above) was rock at its finest!  Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.” A version of “I Hate Myself for Loving You” was reworked for NBC’s Sunday Night Football theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” and was performed for 9 seasons by the likes of Pink, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood. Relive all these hits and many more when Joan Jett and the Blackhearts provide the Independence Day “fireworks via rock ‘n roll” this Thursday, July 4 in TJ’s Corral.  Following Joan we have Dwight Yoakam on July 26 (Sold Out), Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo on July 31, Martina McBride on August 4 and Loverboy on August 9. Tickets and more information for all concerts are available at This Link and be sure to check next week’s blog and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for additional concert news.

TJ’s Corral Concert Throwback
The first week in July has brought a variety of music genres to TJ’s Corral in past years. The sounds of country filled the stage when Tanya Tucker performed on July 3, 2015. Hard-driving rock ‘n roll marked Independence Day last year with Ted Nugent. And the Motown sound of The Spinners took the spotlight on July 8, 2017.

Uncle Kracker a Hit!
“What a good night with Uncle Kracker and his talented band” said photo journalist Pheonix Gruneich in her review of last Saturday’s Uncle Kracker Concert in this article and pictures posted in Tahoe OnStage.

Greg and Judy Emmers
Like Back-to-Back Home Runs!
Locals Greg and Judy Emmers participate in our promotions fairly regularly and try to make the grand prize drawings whenever possible. Such was the case last Thursday when we held the June Grand Prize Drawings for the Free Cruise for Two in our Getaway Giveaways Promotion. Greg and Judy were called back-to-back in the 8 PM series of drawings. Judy won the Alaskan Cruise Trip for Two and Greg won $1000. Judy wanted to take the cruise but after discussion with Greg decided to “cash out!” Collectively, the couple walked out with a nice pile of cash (mostly) and FreePlay! We'll continue with the weekly drawings on Saturday, July 6, 13 and 20 from 6 to 7:30 PM and another Free Alaskan Cruise for Two on Saturday, July 27!

He also fronts his own band HANS! and the HOT MESS a band that represents his original singer/songwriter/electronic soul work.
  • New Wave Crave Thursday: This quartet of talented musicians forms an irresistible force of high-energy entertainment.  Some call them “retro” while others call them “nostalgic” as the generations join together to rock the dance floor to one of the greatest decades of music… the 80’s!
