We’ve been talking to members
of the Alta
Alpina Cycling Club regarding some of the major bicycling
events they have coming up in 2020. In the process, we found out something we
didn't know: Mixed Terrain Riding
has been climbing in popularity while some of the more traditional road races
and specialty challenges have been waning. We also learned that this incredible
local nonprofit organization has mapped and charted 16 Scenic Carson Valley Mixed Terrain Rides and
the Carson Valley Inn is centrally located to the start of all of them! Many of
these rides are available year-round and their popularity is certain to grow as
the spring months arrive. Whether you're an individual cyclist or travel with
fellow members of a cycling club, we invite you to stay at the CVI and enjoy as
many of these adventures as your time and endurance can handle - ride
everything from asphalt highways to remote single track! Here's a link to the summary page of the 16 rides.
Clicking on any ride will bring up more details, a map and the ability to
download a GPX file to go right into your bike's computer! Seems every time we
turn around we're discovering a new way that visitors can and do enjoy the
scenery and recreation of the beautiful Carson Valley!

Golf Season
Almost Here
It’s only two months until our Spring Stag Golf Tournament
on the last week in April - an event we consider our official kickoff to
the golf season each year. Golf is actually played year-round in Carson Valley
depending upon the weather . ... and we’ve certainly had plenty of good golf days every month
since the spring of 2019! While a plethora of returning and new golf groups
have booked their CVI-based trips for the 2020 season, we still have room for more! We’ll help you plan a fantastic golf event
filled with dinners, casino events, cocktail parties and golf at one or more of

Ahi Tuna Poke Appetizer
The Ahi Tuna Poke appetizer in
CV steak starts with ahi tuna tossed with scallions, shallots, garlic, ginger,
sesame oil and soy and served on top of crispy tostadas with avocado and
chipotle aioli. Marley was nice enough to present this attractive and tasty new
appetizer in the picture above. We spoke with her and the other servers working
the same night and they all said this is now one of our most popular
appetizers. Give it a try next time you have dinner in CV Steak or when you
just stop by for appetizers and drinks. Oh, for the record, we devoured everything on the
plate minutes after the picture was “snapped!”
