Another TJ's Concert Announced, Poker Room Ladder Promo, More

Our 4th 2016 TJ’s Corral Concert:
His hit Backroad Song is #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart this week and #5 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, his album REMINGTON (featuring Backroad Song) debuts this Friday, and he’ll be appearing live in TJs Corral on Saturday, May 28His name is Granger Smith and he joins Frankie Ballard (Thursday, June 2), The Oak Ridge Boys (Saturday, June 25) and Randy Houser (Thursday, September 8) on the schedule for what promises to be another exciting concert season in TJs Corral. As soon as we have tickets available for these and other to-be-announced concerts, we’ll post the information on this page on our website.

We’ll Give You the Shirt Off Our Back! Actually, it’s the shirt off the back of the counter behind the Guest Services sign . . . and it’s every Monday in March. We’re talking a different color CVI logo polo shirt each Monday and you can collect one each Monday in March by earning 150 base points the same day. Be sure to use your INN Club card while playing in the casino and check in with Guest Services as soon as you hit 150 points on Monday. These shirts are popular, so be sure to get yours while supplies last and check out more March promotions.

Climbing the Ladder Again in the Poker Room! The Poker Ladder is back for March, April, and May and this time it has even more “rungs.” Poker players accumulate points with all live play and any extra points from wheel spins. We’ll tally up the points and post the leaders each week so you know where you stand. After play on April 15, the top 40 point earners qualify for a $1500 Free Roll Tournament on April 22. At the end of May, we’ll post the final tally and the  50 top point earners for the three months qualify for drawings on June 3, 10, and 17 for another $1500 in total cash.   It’s pretty simple and all the details – in a type size you can actually read – are posted in the Poker Room. And, as they say on those late night infomercials, “But Wait, There’s More!”  Every Friday night from 5 to 10 PM and Saturdays from 1 to 8 PM the high-hand-of-the-hour will get to spin the wheel for points, meals and cash. Click here for more on our Poker Room promotions, tournaments (including a new Tuesday night Crazy Pineapple Tournament) and special games.

Coming Up in the Valley Ballroom Very Soon
We like to help promote the major open-to-the-public events and sponsoring organizations coming up in the Valley Ballroom – here are a few happening in the next two weeks:
These fundraisers are sandwiched between many conventions, meetings, seminars, client appreciation events, banquets, retirement parties, fundraisers, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, memorials . . . We welcome them all and invite you to contact Carrie at 775-783-6673 to plan your next event. Carrie makes it easy by helping you with menu selections, decorations and other special needs. Our staff then handles the set-up, cooking, serving, cleanup, tear down, audiovisual equipment and myriad of other details people think “just happen.”

Free Cabaret Lounge Entertainment:
Bill Wharton is here tonight, The Three Blind Mice entertain Thursday through Saturday and Jonathon “JB” Barton takes the stage Sunday through Wednesday.
The Three Blind Mice bring a party to the Cabaret Lounge with classic rock hit songs from artists such as Van Halen, ZZ Top, Kiss, Elton John, Queen, The Temptations, The Steve Miller Band, Ozzy Osbourne, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, The Spinners, The Beatles, Judas Priest and many others! Formed and led by "the singing drummer" Johnny Lust, the Las Vegas based classic rock trio is rounded out by guitarist/lead singer Dominic Ancona and by former Eagles Tribute act DESPERADO bassist and lead singer John Morrison.

Two Monthly Tournaments this Week: Our monthly Ladies-Only Poker Tournament is this Sunday starting at 4 PM. The crew in the Poker Room has all the details. Then on Tuesday, our monthly Blackjack Tournament takes place in the pit area and any of the dealers can fill you in on how it all works.

  • Because We Feel Like Mentioning It
    • Today is Old Stuff Day. To see how new and old can coexist, stop at Sharkey's Casino and take some time to browse the many pictures and other memorabilia on the walls. Lots of memories of old time Carson Valley scenes, people, and places.
    • Today is also Banana Cream Pie Day.  As luck would have it, we offer Banana Cream Pies in either the 6' or 10' size at the Katie's Bakery Counter, or order a slice for dessert while enjoying lunch or dinner in Katie's. Here's a look at all the take-some-home-today bakery items we offer at the Katie's Bakery Counter (caution, this list could be Overbearing to those who snack on veggies, fruit and unbuttered/unsalted popcorn).
    • Thursday is National Anthem Day. Love her or leave her, here is a chance to again enjoy one of the most compelling recent renditions sung on our country’s largest stage by Lady Gaga!
    • Friday is Grammar Day and Tuesday is Proofreading Day. Guess that means, at least grammatically, anything goes on the three days in-between.
