I Wish It Would Rain In TJ’s Corral Saturday Night! Do we really want it to rain Saturday night during the The Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards Concert? Of course not – and it won’t! “I Wish It Would Rain” will be one of the 20+ top-ten hits of the Temptations you just might experience in TJ’s Saturday. This popular Motown legend also had 20 top-ten albums, numerous TV appearances, and songs that are embedded in the memories of anyone who listened to pop or R&B music in the mid-sixties through the nineties and – thanks to long-time member Dennis Edwards – even into today. Edwards was the first new Temptation to enter the group after their "classic five" heyday, when he replaced David Ruffin as lead singer in July 1968. With his rougher gospel-hewn vocals, Edwards led the group through its psychedelic, funk, and disco periods. Two of the Temptations songs he appears on, "Cloud Nine" (1968) and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" (1972), won Grammy Awards. Edwards was the lead singer on many of the other Temptations hits including “I Cant’ Get Next To you”, “Ball of Confusion”, “Psychedelic Shack” and “My Girl”. Dennis Edwards has received 7 Grammy Awards, 14 Gold Records, has sold over 100,000,000 recordings worldwide. More than a dozen country legends are showing their support to the families of the recently slain Dallas police officers in a Stars Behind the Stars benefit concert in Fort Worth tonight. Among those who have performed for audiences at the CVI are Tanya Tucker, the Oak Ridge Boys, Collin Raye, Johnny Lee, Moe Bandy and T.G. Sheppard, who will also serve as host of the event.

Free Cabaret Lounge Entertainment: The Rye Brothers are in house tonight through Saturday and Patrick Major takes over Sunday through Wednesday.  The Rye Brothers are a “power-pop” country act, mixing contemporary country music and rock n’ roll guitar driven songs. • Our Friday special in CV Steak is Roasted Stuffed Quail for $28.  Saturday night’s special is Garlic Studded Prime Rib for $26 and Sunday's special is one pound of King Crab Legs for $32.
